Centre City
San Diego is the 8th largest city in the United States. Downtown San Diego serves as the cultural and financial center of the city. With more than 4,000 businesses and nine districts, downtown is known as the central business district of the city. The downtown area is vibrant with arts and culture. You can visit the San Diego Symphony, Opera as well as multiple theaters and museums. Events are hosted throughout the year at the San Diego Convention Center and you can root for the local baseball team, the Padres, at Petco Park.
The nine downtown districts include: Columbia, Core District, Cortez Hill, East Village, Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, Marina, Horton Plaza and Seaport Village.
