La Jolla Neighborhoods
La Jolla is the northernmost beach community in San Diego as well as one of the largest. Three main parts make up La Jolla: La Jolla Cove, Bird Rock, and UTC.
La Jolla Cove: The picturesque gem of La Jolla, just south of La Jolla Shores. A short walk from Downtown La Jolla will get you to the Children’s beach and face to face with seals and sea lions.
Bird Rock: Where North Pacific Beach turns into Southern La Jolla, you can find independent shops and restaurants all along La Jolla Blvd. Also home to one of San Diego’s best beaches, Windansea Beach.
UTC: Otherwise known as University Towne Center, UTC is the Eastern portion of La Jolla. It’s home to office buildings, a Westfield Mall, and affordable housing for students attending University of California, San Diego.
